Color Schemes

I love color! Color schemes from the soft and subtle to the bright and bold make my world go round. I find it amazing just how much color can affect your moods and how you feel. Think about it… if you are somewhere that is dark and dingy, do you like it? Or do you feel depressed, sad, scared, or intimidated? If you are surrounded by light, you feel safe, happy, and relaxed. Add color to these places and you can change the feel and mood along with the decor.

Some of my Favorite Color Schemes:

So soft and subtle. It makes me think of a late spring early summer breeze. Gentle and Beautiful.

I love the peachy corals with the greens.

I absolutely adore hydrangea bushes, especially when their blooms are in the blue and lavender hues.

My living room uses a lot of these colors. The neutrality of the colors is peaceful and relaxing, and lends itself well to seasonal decorating.

Another neutral based color scheme with a hint of added colors. Tranquil, serene…

Lovely Autumn / Winter colors. Can’t you smell the apple cider and pumpkin pie?

  1. I love color. I keep my sofas and chairs neutral and add pops of color with pillows, curtains or rugs. And I must have lots of natural light. All of the color samples you shared are awesome.

  2. I am partial to warm colors, although I love ALL colors. Seems like I have certain colors I wear, certain colors I decorate with and certain colors I craft with. I’m not overly biased… I like em’ all.
Our house is painted in warm colors INCLUDING the ceiling! I contend that it is a “wall” too. I used a couple different shades of yellow, a burnt red or rust, and a deep burgundy for different areas of our open concept living area/kitchen/dining and entry way. In the dining room, I combined all the colors and did a faux finish on the walls above the chair rail and below was the same deep burgundy as the accent wall in the living room. The first think people do when they come in, is look up. We have a vaulted ceiling and I guess the fact that it isn’t WHITE throws them for a loop. 🙂

  3. Wowser… I love colorscheme a lot as I am trying to be a web designer. I just learn redesigning using genesis framework. You might visit mine and see new things around. Those are very interesting sets,. Thank you very much for sharing.

    1. Adelien, thanks for stopping by! 🙂 I will definitely pop by for a visit and see what is up with your blog. I’m so glad you liked the color schemes. Genesis Framework, huh? I’m impressed… good luck with your goals. 🙂

  4. I really like the first one, soft and subtle at the top. We are in the midst of repainting the interior of our home, those are more the hues we chose. I share your love of hydrangea bushes. We have planted 5 of them and coddle and love them to produce those big beautiful flowers.

  5. These are so pretty! And they colors all look perfect together! We rent so I can’t paint walls, but I’d sure love to. I’m glad I found this on Blessedlearners Party! Pinned!

  6. Lately it seems I’ve been drawn to aqua with…we’ll just about anything! But I really love the aqua/red and aqua/orange combinations. Maybe it’s because they have such a retro feel, back to when style extended to even the toaster in the kitchen 🙂

    1. Oooh, I like aqua too. And yeah, the whole retro thing just feels comfy doesn’t it? Simpler times, simpler lives… I also think it’s interesting how our own color choices fluctuate. Maybe there’s a study in that. LOL Glad to see you around.

  7. They are all so amazing- how can you choose just one?? We’re fortunate to be building a new cottage and the colour scheme is a source of controversy for the family. It looks like we’re going with something close to the mushroom tints which I just love.

Thank you for having us as co-hosts for the #HomeMattersParty again this week!

  8. They are ALL so beautiful! You obviously have a talent for picking out the good combinations! Great to be co-hosting the #HomeMattersParty with you!

  9. They’re all so beautiful I can’t decide which I like the best.
Thanks for hosting the #homemattersparty and allowing me to be a co-host. It’s been a great experience.

  10. These are all so pretty, it’s hard to choose a favorite! Right now I’m loving the succulents but I could definitely see falling for the winter berry one when the holidays roll around. I’m having a great time co-hosting the #HomeMattersParty!

  11. Those are gorgeous. I’m itching to give my brother’s house a new look (it used to be my grandma’s house and nothing has been done to it in years and years) but he doesn’t have a clue what he likes. It just occurred to me that showing him some of these may be a good place to start.

Loving co-hosting the #HomeMattersParty with you. Thanks!

  12. I absolutely love the succulent color scheme!! I think it would be perfect in a guest room. Thank you for sharing with us at Merry Monday!
