Meringue Topping
Learn How-To Make a Fabulous Finish for Your Next Dessert!

I just love beautiful dessert toppings, and when they taste delicious too that is an amazing bonus. Meringue Topping is one of those dessert toppers that have both great taste and great looks — desserts crowning glory. And, it is so easy to make.
How-To Make Meringue Topping
4 or 6 Egg Whites
1/4 Cup Granulated Sugar
1 Teaspoon Vanilla
Whip ingredients to stiff peaks. The meringue will become smooth and have a glossy shine.
Spoon meringue topping onto your already baked dessert. Use the spoon to swirl the meringue around, and pull up the spoon to make peaks. Be sure to spread meringue topping all the way to the pie crust or edge of dish to seal.
TIP: Let meringue stand to room temperature before placing on the hot dessert to help prevent weeping. (The heat helps bake the underside of the meringue).
Place the meringue topped dessert into a 350 degree oven and bake for 10 to 15 minutes, or until the meringue is golden brown as desired.

Hi Lorelai! Beautiful presentation! Thanks for hosting a great party @ Home Matters!

Thank you, Kristine! So glad you stopped by from Home Matters. 🙂
Oh, this looks so great. I have to pin because I have only tried to make meringue one time and it DID NOT go well. I guess I didn’t quite get the “stiff peaks” thing. Of course that was a long time ago when I had no idea how to cook or bake. I think I might have better luck these days. Thanks for sharing! It’s great co-hosting the #HomeMattersParty with you!
This looks so pretty! I’ve actually never tried making a meringue but your recipe makes it sound very doable! It’s great to be co-hosting the #HomeMattersParty with you, it’s been a ton of fun so far!

I have made meringues and pavlovas, but I have never tried to add a meringue topping to a baked dessert! I love meringues and I am already thinking about what desserts I can add this to. It is so impressive and I know it tastes good! I have pinned this to my Sweets and Treats board and I would be so honored if you would come by and share it at my Celebrate it Sunday Link party at Celebrate and Decorate!
Thanks for the invite, Chloe… I’m definitely coming over to check it out and link up! 🙂
I have always been scared of making meringue but with this recipe. I am so going to try it. Love Cohosting #HomeMattersParty with you.
