The five senses are something that we often take for granted, until something happens that makes us take notice. It is important to have regular screenings to help maintain a healthy body and lifestyle. Hear life and #HearABetterDay with Miracle-Ear.
Got a problem?
Your ears are just one thing you should have tested. Often, hearing loss is so gradual that you may not even notice until it has become a problem. Are you finding yourself turning up the television or radio? Do you ask people to repeat what they have said? Family and friends mentioning that you may have an issue? Are you missing the buzzing of bees and the singing of the birds in your garden?
Sometimes a hearing problem is not just that things are not loud enough for you to hear. Perhaps other noises are interfering with your hearing a conversation, such as in a restaurant. Maybe you have a ringing in your ears that drowns out what you want to hear. These are issues that my dad has to live with. His growing up on a working farm with loud machinery, and decades of working in the construction industry have left him with Tinnitus, a ringing in his ears. Not only is this condition annoying, it also affects his hearing. He has regular screenings because he knows that eventually, he will need to have the help of aids.
Find a solution!
What’s great is that advances in hearing aides are made every day, and Miracle-Ear is on the leading-edge with the new technology of GENIUS 2.0 with Speech Isolation. The GENIUS 2.0 employs three technologies, digital noise reduction, directionality, and amplification to create Speech Isolation and build a superior audibility. It also includes amazing features such as Echo Guard (to keep sound from reflecting off surfaces), and Phone Surround (that transmits phone signal from one ear to both ears when using a handheld phone).
Miracle-Ear also has the new wireless CROS/BiCROS available for those with unilateral hearing loss. Wear this device on the unaided ear to wirelessly send signal to the GENIUS 2.0, allowing the wearer to hear sound from both ears.

So sorry to hear about your dad, but sounds like he is doing everything he can to make sure that he keeps track of what is going on with his hearing. And I completely agree once again about Miracle Ear as it really is a wonderful product to help and aid those who need this kind of help and solution for their own hearing loss.
My dad is beginning to lose his hearing too. I have to talk louder when I’m talking to him. He has regular hearing screenings and I’m so glad that free hearing tests are available and new technology is being implemented to help the hearing impaired.
Great tips!! My son is almost deaf in one ear, and I never realized what the sense of hearing really can do. Love these tips. #HomeMattersParty
I worked in the Audiology department of a children’s hospital for a while, and it really made me aware of how serious hearing loss can be. Tinnitus sounds VERY uncomfortable. #HomeMattersParty
Hearing is definitely a gift we take for granted. That is wonderful that there are free testing resources available for people who may be experiencing hearing loss.
So happy to be cohosting the #HomeMattersParty this week!
Hearing is so important. It would frustrate us when my dad wouldn’t put his hearing aids in so he could hear us. Love hosting #homemattersparty with you.
When I think of hearing loss, I only think of older people having that issue. I lost my hearing for three weeks due the fact that my ears wouldn’t pop in an airplane ride. That was a very LONG three weeks. The doctor feared it may be life long, but I was blessed and it wasn’t.
I see the value behind having this test done.
Thank you for sharing this with us on the #HomeMattersParty.
My grandma lost her hearing sense after giving birth to one of my aunt. I really know how important it is. Good that they are offering this service to get it tested. #HomeMattersparty.
Great post Lorelai! Thanks for sharing & hosting #HomeMattersParty
As a nurse, I know how important hearing is. It’s hard to communicate when you can’t hear well. My grandma has hearing loss but refuses to get a hearing aid. Thanks for sharing at #HomeMattersParty I love being a co-host, thank you!
Miracle-Ear has helped me considerably. I have their Behind-the-Ear hearing aid which they suggested would be the best fit for me.
That’s awesome, Kenton. I am so glad you found Miracle-Ear, and got something that worked for you. Life’s too short to not #HearABetterDay 🙂 Have a wonderful weekend.
Thanks for sharing these amazing tips. Also, for sharing your dad’s experience. Sorry about that. But I really appreciate the efforts that you have taken to share this story to make other aware of this problem.
