Sometimes the adjectives weird, squirrely, or quirky can have a bad connotation, but I think they are great words full of character and personality. I have always been drawn to the quirky characters in books, TV shows, and movies; I just find them so interesting and fun. That is probably one of the main reasons I love The Gilmore Girls so much. How could I pass up a town loaded to the brim with quirky characters.

7 Squirrely Things About Me!

I can take a long time to order a meal at a restaurant. I need to know what all is on it, and I want a lot of it put on the side. I’m kind of like Sally in that 1989 Meg Ryan/Billy Crystal movie When Harry Met Sally. (my friends even took to calling me Sally for a while). What?

My linen closet has to be perfectly in order. Everything needs to be folded the same and turned and stacked with the folds and edges going the same directions.

When we play games, I can’t help myself but to straighten out the decks of cards or center the games pieces on their spaces.
…
When I get my truck back from being worked on (oil change, tire rotation, etc), I have to wipe down the keys, steering wheel and column, center console, inside door handle and arm rest with antibacterial wipes before I can start up the truck and get going.

I like napkins! I have a five napkin system: one over each leg, one across the middle, one that’s folded in half and tucked on my lap to use for wiping my mouth, and of course, one for my silverware to sit on at the table. Sometimes the waitress will bring me extras, then I have some for guest napkins. *grin*

I have a hard time sitting still. I am always moving even if it’s just a little bit: moving my leg, rocking, whatever.

I can’t do public speaking. I hate it, and get so nervous. But, I love to sing karaoke… ok, singing karaoke is quirky all in itself.

11 Random Things About Me:

When I was 4-years-old, I announced to my family that, “Chickens are made of feathers!”
I once ran over a little boy’s RC Car the day after Christmas.
I was a Cheerleader/Songleader in High School.
My favorite place to relax at home is on the swing in the garden on a warm day.
A Bubble Bath with a good book and a glass of wine…yes, please!
I love Harry Potter… books, movies, games, treats… anything Harry!
My friend/lab partner and I blew a hole through the science lab wall into the girls bathroom.
I have had cats, rabbits, and dogs as pets.
Raccoons love my yard. They hang out daytime and nighttime and steal my sprinklers.
I have hazel eyes.
I love going to cozy and quaint tea shops for afternoon tea.

1. What’s your favorite meal of the day — breakfast, lunch or dinner?
Definitely Dinner…prime rib, yum!
2. What’s your favorite fruit? Raspberries
3. When you were five, what did you want to be when you grew up? A Princess
4. What quality do you find most attractive in others? Truthfulness
5. What’s your favorite sport? Ice Skating
6. Gold or silver? Gold
7. What’s your favorite candy? Anything with Chocolate and Caramel!!!

It’s a Happy Saturday! Looky what I woke up to …

Now, onto the 7 Things About Me ~

When my mind won’t shut off at night and let me sleep, I turn on one of my favorite movies (volume low) and listen to it. It relaxes me and allows my brain to focus on that and let me fall asleep. A few of my favorite go to movies are: The Holiday, Leap Year, 27 Dresses, and The Wedding Date.
I celebrated my 8th, 13th, and 16th birthdays in Europe.
I am very good with directions. Rory and I went to Pittsburgh and drove all over the place without getting lost. We had a really great trip, considering we went for medical reasons. (I might have to write a post about that trip).
I was a florist (owned my own shop for almost 7 years) and a property manager before becoming a stay-at-home mom.
My favorite colors are: a soft buttery/lemony yellow, red, and lavender.
I was a songleader/cheerleader in high school.
My first car was a two-toned blue Chevy Citation that I got for my 17th birthday. I drove that car for 12-years!

I like to cook, especially with fresh ingredients from my herb and vegetable gardens.
I am a writer of novels (Children’s Fantasy and Adult Cozy Mystery genres).
I love to decorate for home or entertaining.
My lab partner and I blew up the science lab in high school.
I like to organize things. All things – closets, drawers, parties, you name it.
I’ve had three HORRID pregnancies.
I was a competitive ice skater.
Themed parties are a specialty of mine.
I’ve been lucky enough to live in Orange County, California my entire life.
I like to play games – board games, cards, bunco, anything…love them!
