Home Matters Linky Party Guidelines:

We are thrilled that you came by to link up today! Here are a few rules that hosts and co-hosts of the Home Matters Party follow, and we ask that you follow them, as well.

  1. Please link up no more than THREE posts each week–try to make sure that they are new links that you have not shared here previously. (Exception: Holiday/Seasonal specific posts may be shared once per year.)
  1. Please take some time to poke around and visit some of the other links.
  1. Please take some time to check out your hosts and co-hosts on social media.
  1. We appreciate the variety of blogs on the www; however, the Home Matters Party is for links on matters of the HOME. Please link accordingly.
  1. We ask that you do not add other Linky Parties, Blog Hops, or Giveaways–unless you begin the party with a new project, recipe or post.
  1. On the same note, please do not add links of an extremist, political or strong controversial nature. (The hosts and co-hosts read each and every blog post linked and will contact you directly if you have linked something that does not fit into the realm of the party.)

With your help, we can continue to grow the Home Matters Party! Thank you!

Better Things – Laugh, Don’t Pull Your Hair Out!

Long days, late nights, endless to-do lists — do these things sound familiar? Do certain situations make you feel like screaming into your pillow? Do Better Things call you?

Better Things – Laugh, Don’t Pull Your Hair Out!

A mom you can relate to on the FX Network

If you are a mom, you bet they do! Stumbling through days with little-to-no sleep, but still managing to drive carpool, go to work, give homework help, take care of household chores, nurse your little sickies, and get dinner on the table doesn’t leave you much “me” time. As a mom, you are always sacrificing for your children, and you wouldn’t have it any other way, but you are still, YOU. So, let your style and personality shine, and get ready for Better Things.

Being exhausted at the end of the day, and knowing you have that last load of laundry you have to finish (because your daughter swears she’ll die if she doesn’t have that outfit to wear to school the next day), can make you want to pull your hair out. Well, stop pulling and start laughing!

Better Things, a NEW comedy series created by Louis C.K. and Pamela Adlon for FX Network airs Thursdays at 10PM. Every mom will relate to Adlon’s character, Sam, a single mother raising three daughters. Like any mom, Sam wears many hats — mom, dad, referee, and the cops.

Watch pieces of your life unfold on screen as Sam navigates motherhood, a job, and a wannabe social life with little-to-no filter. Rory and I found ourselves smirking and laughing at some of the scenes that could have come straight from our lives. I guarantee you will have your own life moments flooding back to memory. Feel the validation! Roll your eyes with frustration. Love the heartwarming moments. Snicker at the hilarity.  Enjoy the triumphs. And realize you are not alone. Get together with your girlfriends and watch Better Things.

Check out the Better Things previews and trailers here!

Now, let’s make that Better Things watching party even more fun by offering a totally cool and super fun GIVEAWAY!!!

Better Things – FX Network has created a Swag Box filled with goodies!

Eighteen Years Ago… Shooby Dooby Down To Ruby’s!

After a long, stressful pregnancy of bed-rest, multiple long-term hospitalizations, and constant contractions, I was finally told by my OB/GYN to go home and try to relax, and come back into the hospital early the next morning to induce labor. (What he did not tell me, was that the amniotic fluids were very low and the baby’s heart rate was running about 240 bpm).

My mother drove me to my appointment, and since this was one of my only outings, we stopped at Ruby’s Diner for lunch on the way home. We had eaten at Ruby’s the day before my son was born–it seemed like a good tradition.

I ordered the same lunch, an Aloha Burger (The delicious teriyaki glaze and a grilled pineapple ring will have you dancing the hula! Takes you straight to Maui!), Onion Rings, and a Chocolate Orange Malt (with extra malt). YUM! I’m hungry just thinking about it.

It was a tasty treat and a nice lunch with my mom before I had to return home to bed. Laying on your left side for months-on-end gets really old and really painful. Not to mention the boredom factor. I think I watched every episode of Murder She Wrote, Father Dowling, Saved By The Bell, and heaven forbid…the entire OJ Trial!!!

It was off to sleep early for me as I had to wake up at 4:30 am to go to the hospital the next morning… waiting anxiously for my little lovebug to come into this world…

I would love to hear from you…leave me a COMMENT.
