Halloween Candy Display Ideas To Delight

Get creative with your Halloween candy. Check out these frightfully fun and easy Halloween Candy Display Ideas and delight your trick-or-treaters! #Halloween

Thanks to Oriental Trading for providing some of these products.

Halloween Candy Display Ideas To Delight

Easy, Creative and Frightfully Fun

Halloween is always a frightfully good holiday. I love to decorate and make things extra fun for anyone who stops by, especially the cutest little trick-or-treaters. One way I do this is by displaying my Halloween candies. Why just have candy tossed in a bowl, when you can make it festive? Check out these easy and creative ideas…

Bubbling Cauldron of Candy

Make your cauldron bubble using a package of Stretchable Spider Webs. I used a large cauldron and edged it with the webbing, pulling and fluffing it out, then place a bowl in the top of the cauldron that was large enough to sit at the top. I fluffed the spider webbing over the edge of that bowl and filled with candy. The spider web is lightweight and flutters in the breeze for a really cool effect.

Hanging Cauldron

This idea takes a smaller cauldron, a hanging plant stand, plant chain, and hook. We drilled holes below the lip of the cauldron to put the chain through and attached it to the hook. Then, the cauldron just hangs from the stand. Fill it with Halloween Candy.

Jack-O’-Lantern and Black Cat Display

These adorable Halloween Candy Buffet Buckets come in a set of three sizes — perfect for separating treats. I used one for candy, one for glow bracelets and Halloween card, and one for mini flashlights and holiday pencils. Placed on a table with a black plastic tablecloth and Halloween Silhouette Table Skirt, pumpkins and one of my Silhouette Cat Yard Stakes.

It’s not hard or expensive to make Halloween frightfully fun with these spooktacular Halloween Candy Display Ideas. They are great for parties too — Enjoy!

Pumpkin Rice Pudding Recipe – A Holiday Favorite

This post, Pumpkin Rice Pudding Recipe – A Holiday Favorite, has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #BakeHolidayGoodness #CollectiveBias

Rice pudding is a family favorite, and it is so simple and inexpensive to make. Putting a pumpkin twist on this classic dessert is easy-peasy and makes for a festive seasonal treat.

Pumpkin Rice Pudding Recipe

A Perfect Autumn Dessert

If you are anything like me, you love the holidays. Decorating, parties, special meals and dishes are all wonderful, but they do take a toll. So, if you are looking to add a little balance to a special fall dessert, give my Pumpkin Rice Pudding a try. Pumpkin is a superfood! It is a fantastic and flavorful way to add something a little healthier to a recipe. This tasty treat makes a great dessert topped with whipped cream and NESTLÉ® BUNCHA CRUNCH® Baking Bits. You can be so creative and versatile with rice pudding, it even makes a nice breakfast or snack.

Save time and do right by your family with convenient, good quality ingredients. Libby’s® 100% Pure Pumpkin is all-natural, perfect in sweet and savory recipes, and contains no preservatives. NESTLÉ® CARNATION® Evaporated Milk has been a pantry staple for over a century adding rich creaminess that makes a difference. Plus, these products will help keep your budget and your nutrition more balanced.

Let’s Get Cooking Pumpkin Rice Pudding!

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 Cups – Rice (I used an instant rice)
  • Water (amount according to directions on your rice package)
  • 4 Cups – Evaporated Milk (3 cans)
  • 3/4 Cup – Granulated Sugar
  • 3/4 teaspoon – salt
  • 1/4 Cups – Light Brown Sugar
  • 1 Cup – 100% Pure Pumpkin Puree
  • 2 – Egg Yolks
  • 2 Tablespoons – Butter
  • 2 teaspoons – Vanilla Extract
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons – Ground Cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon – Ground Cloves
  • Whipped Cream (optional)
  • Buncha Crunch Baking Bits (optional)

Directions:

  1. Boil Rice with appropriate Water amount, Granulated Sugar, and Salt. in a medium to large saucepan, until rice is fully cooked, fluffy, and tender.
  2. Pour in 3 Cups Evaporated Milk (holding back 1 Cup for later).
  3. Bring to a boil, then turn heat down to Low and Simmer for 20 minutes.
  4. Stir frequently, until thick and creamy. Give this time, it will thicken.
  5. Once thickened, mix in Brown Sugar and Pumpkin Puree.
  6. Place Egg Yolks in a small bowl.
  7. Spoon 3 Tablespoons of hot pudding mixture into the egg yolks, Whisk quickly and briskly to temper the yolks. This will help to keep them from scrambling when added to the hot pudding.
  8. Once egg yolks are warm, add them to the pudding mixture and stir.
  9. Add remaining 1 Cup Evaporated Milk, mix well.
  10. Cook for 3-5 minutes, until thickened again.
  11. Remove from heat.
  12. Add Butter, Vanilla Extract, Cinnamon, and Cloves.
  13. Top with Whipped Cream and Buncha Crunch Baking Bits.

Suggestions:

Pumpkin Rice Pudding can be served warm or cold. Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container. Dried cranberries, raisins, or nuts also make great topping or mix-in suggestions.

I know your family is going to love this seasonal dessert, and you can feel good about serving it to them. Rice pudding is a fantastic dessert to make-ahead, so it fits well into your busy schedule.

Halloween Night 2014

Happy Halloween!

Hope you all had a wonderful fun-filled Halloween Night 2014.

Halloween Night 2014 was one of the best Halloweens ever! We had such an awesome time last night with our trick-or-treaters. The jack-o’-lanterns were a huge success. Neighbors were telling neighbors and sending them over to see it all. Our yard was the ultimate photo spot for the evening.

Here’s what the house looked like…

My neighbor gave me this gorgeous antique Victorian loveseat and two matching chairs this past Monday. It was perfect for relaxing in the courtyard and greeting our Halloween guests, and it really set the tone for our Halloween Night 2014. Luke drilled holes in my little black cauldron, so I could use my hanging plant stand for our candy.

We had tons of fun decorating for Halloween… here’s what the front of the house looked like.

Luke made special shelves for displaying my pumpkins. They attached to the wrought iron of the brick wall, and are completely reusable for next year!

We recycled these concrete bench legs from our DIY Courtyard Project as Pumpkin Pedestals. They really added a Gothic feel.

The pumpkin shelves were nearly invisible. It was such a cool look.

Everyone wanted to get up close and personal with the jack-o’-lanterns. To complete the mood for the evening, we had a collection of 23 versions of Grim Grinning Ghosts playing in the background. The music almost made the Singing Graveyard Busts come to life. All in all, it was a super fun Halloween Night 2014!

And the remainder of the pumpkins I carved for Halloween…

You can check out the first two pumpkins of the season, Singing Graveyard Busts and Drac-n-Bat’s ’32 here.

Recycle Broken Malibu Lights for the Holidays -DIY

Broken Malibu Lights?

Do Something Fun for the Holidays!

Don’t you hate it when you have to throw away something you paid good money for? You were so excited about your purchase, you enjoyed it, and now it’s past its prime, worn-out, broken. Why not recycle Malibu lights.

Let’s face it. Malibu lights make a beautiful statement in our yards, but they take a beating in the sun, and from the gardener’s weed-whacker. So, somewhere down the line, the lights will need replacing.

So, what do you do with these dilapidated pieces?

Here’s a great Holiday Idea for old Malibu Lights…

You may have some of these goodies stored away in your holiday decorations. If not, you can certainly buy them new, or find them at a garage sale. Plastic lighted yard ornaments come in a multitude of shapes and styles for all the different holidays–Snowmen, Nativities, Easter Bunny, etc .

Pull the cord! Just pop that light right out of the back. I’m sure you can find another use for that light somewhere in your holiday decorating.

Instead of running unsightly extension cords around you yard, why not use recycled broken Malibu lights. Chances are, you all ready have the wire run in your yard, optimize it.

Start by trimming the electrical base of the Malibu light.

Size the newly cut base to the bottom of your lawn ornament.

Using a utility knife, cut a whole in the bottom of the ornament large enough for the Malibu base to fit through easily, but not overly large.

Hook-up the trimmed Malibu light  just like you normally would, by piercing the wire between the base and the stake.

Pick your location, and place the stake in the ground.

Tape or Tie-wrap the cords. You don’t have to do this step, but it makes for a neater presentation.

Place you ornament over the seated Malibu light.

And voila! You have an easy, cute, lighted lawn ornament for the holidays.

Aren’t my Malibu Jack-O’-Lanterns adorable? I love them!

Revitalize your old Malibu lights and lawn ornaments with this simple tutorial on Recycled Broken Malibu Lights for the Holidays.
