15 BLT Recipe Ideas – Re-imagine The Classic

Re-imagine the classic favorite with these 15 recipe twists on the Bacon Lettuce, and Tomato sandwich. Celebrate with BLT recipe ideas for every meal or party.

15 BLT Recipe Ideas

Re-imagine the Classic Favorite with These Tasty Twists

I have to admit, a good bacon, lettuce, and tomato sandwich is one of my all-time favorites. There is just something sublime about the melding of those savory and fresh ingredients. It is an easy sandwich that everyone knows how to make…or do they?

We have had a big laugh a couple of times within the last six weeks or so while dining at two different restaurants. I ordered the BLT sandwich, and both times my sandwich was served without tomato. What’s that? Bacon, lettuce, and TOAST??? Both waitresses were as shocked as we were, and the laughter just rolled.

Needless to say, BLTs have been on my radar, so I thought it would be fun to do a round-up of bacon, lettuce, and tomato inspired recipes. I’ve scoured the web and pulled together some amazing BLT recipe ideas that will make your mouth water. Plus, these varied twists on the classic can be served for breakfast, brunch, lunch, appetizers, dinner, you name it — they are delicious anytime, anywhere. And, take note, they all include tomato! LOL Enjoy the celebration…

BLT Recipe Ideas – Twist on the Classic

Pumpkin Butter Crescent Rolls

A Scrumptiously Simple Seasonal Treat!

One morning last week, Rory and I had a hankering for fresh baked crescent rolls to go with our coffee with Homemade Pumpkin Spice Syrup. While grabbing the package of crescent rolls from the refrigerator, I suddenly remembered that I had picked up a jar of Trader Joe’s Pumpkin Butter on my last shopping trip thinking it would be a nice Fall treat. My taste buds tingled with the idea of combining the two items. It was easy as can be (only two ingredients) and super tasty too!

Pumpkin Butter Crescent Rolls

Ingredients:

  • Crescent Rolls
  • Pumpkin Butter

Directions:

  • Preheat the oven according to the Crescent Roll package.
  • Spread Pumpkin Butter on one side of dough triangle.
  • Place a small dollop of Pumpkin Butter in the middle of the large end of dough.
  • Roll the dough to make the crescent.
  • Bake as directed.

These are delicious! The Pumpkin Butter slightly caramelized on the edges, and the baking filled our home with the most amazing aroma. It was definitely a Fall treat we will enjoy again and again. I hope you enjoy it too.

Do you have any favorite Fall treats?

I would love it if you would Pin or Share this Recipe…

A Cinnamon Roll Morning…

Mmm, Mmm, Good!

Do not ask me why I felt I had to pop out of bed this morning at 5 AM… It just shouldn’t happen; however, I have thoroughly enjoyed my blissful morning of quiet solitude. A fresh pot of coffee and piping hot cinnamon rolls straight from the oven, some blog reading, and a little chat with the girls in my blogging buddy group. All this while getting two loads of laundry finished!

These cinnamon rolls are from one of my favorite stores, Trader Joe’s, and they are DELICIOUS! If you don’t have the time nor inclination to bake your own, Trader Joe’s Jumbo Cinnamon Rolls are a fabulous alternative.

I feel like I can tackle anything today, as though I will get a lot accomplished. And the Lord knows, I have a lot on my plate right now. I am still trying to get some sort of support out of Christopher. It is unbelievable how much work (and even money) it costs to get this all handled. Grrr… Back to more pleasant thoughts…

BlogHer hosts NaBloPoMo each month. It is where you publish a blog post every day for one month. This months theme is, Connect. Today they asked this question:

Do you think you still spend the same amount of time connecting in the face-to-face world now that socializing is so easy online?

I started think of all the ways in which I connect with people, and realized that over the years, the forms of connection are in a continual state of flux. As you grow-up and go to school you are in a seemingly constant face-to-face connection (sometimes to your chagrin), Then you move onto the hormonal stage of connection where face-to-face turns lip-to-lip. And along come children… and your entire form of connection changes again.

Kirk and Rory – This picture was taken 16-years ago today – July 3, 1997

When children come into the picture, life connections turn more inward bound–toward your family and home. Life becomes so busy. You have to really make an effort to step outside and have “friend time”. Then the children go off to school, and you go off to Starbucks with the moms after drop-off for a cup o’ joe and a return to face-to-face connections. More up close connecting takes charge of your schedule as you take the kiddies to swimming lessons, little league baseball, soccer, or ballet. And then they hit high school, where your connections are put on the chopping block, but you manage to hang on to some tidbits.

So now, you separate from your husband (well at least I did), and begin divorce proceedings, and your connections change again. You find yourself looking for new friends, taking up karaoke perhaps…*grin*. Karaoke is a great stress reliever, and some place to meet new and interesting people (sometimes too interesting, LOL). I am a people person, I like being around people, whether it’s out on the town, or hanging at home. I think human connection can’t be beat.

However, connecting with people online gives you the versatility to meet people from all around the world. You get to learn about their country, their culture, their lives–sometimes it’s not so different from your very own. In fact, it was an online friend of mine from England that persuaded me to finally give karaoke a shot. I love to sing, and he loved to sing karaoke. So it was through talking with him that I finally got up the nerve to seek out a place to sing karaoke…and came back with Luke as a wonderful friend, and now the best boyfriend ever.

My preference in connections is a healthy mix of both face-to-face and online. For me, I would say that mix would run about 2/3 face-to-face and 1/3 online. This morning, it’s been sitting here with my blogging buddies, drinking coffee, and nibbling on yummy cinnamon rolls. I love all of my friends either in person or on social media.
