Michelle James is back with the Easiest Farmhouse Scale Makeover. You are going to love this!
HI! I am very excited about this post. It was so easy and made such an impact on this farmhouse scale!
Farmhouse Scale Makeover
An Easy DIY Project
I have had this scale in my garage for a long time. It was a leftover from my store when I sold paper by the pound. Now the farmhouse look is very popular and there it was just sitting on the shelf. I dusted it off and decided it would be super cute in a fun color.
Supplies Needed:
- Scale
- Screwdriver
- Yellow Spray Paint
I was himming and hawing over the color, and my husband actually suggested the yellow. I ended up loving it.
This is how it looked before I started. It was gray and blah. Once I started I could hardly wait between coats. I wanted it in the house so bad. But first things first.
I removed the scale “face” by removing the screws. Then I was able to use spray paint without having to fuss over masking. I really hate masking and I am not very good at it. Plus I don’t like it when the paint gets underneath the mask. Then I have to try to touch up and that is not fun with a spray paint.
Here it is after the first coat of yellow. Cute right?
Little by little, I am incorporating the farmhouse look into my home décor. I love the look of it and like most people I love Fixer Upper show on HGTV. So this is a new vignette that I created using my freshly painted farmhouse scale.
What do you think?
If you like the farmhouse look you may like the Farmhouse Lamp I made. It fits perfectly into this display, and I just love it.
You can find more projects like this on my blog so I hope you will stop by and visit from time to time.
See you in two weeks!
