Hot Tea for Everything! + HM #217

There is nothing better than hot tea to make you feel cozy and wonderful. Whether the weather is cold and wet or not, tea is definitely a comfort. I love the memories a nice cuppa tea renders of lovely moments shared with my mother and grandmother, of the tea parties with my daughter and nieces, or even just some quiet “me” time cuddled up by the fire with a good book. Hot tea or tea in general also has many health and beauty benefits. The gals of Home Matters are sharing all sorts of fun things — all related to tea in celebration of National Hot Tea Month. Enjoy!

Iced Tea In The Garden + 3 Tea Sandwich Recipes

This shop, Iced Tea In The Garden + 3 Tea Sandwich Recipes, has been compensated by Collective Bias, INC. and The Coca-Cola Company, all opinions are mine alone. #HonestSustainabiliTEA #RefreshinglyHonest #CollectiveBias

Relax in the Garden with Iced Tea

Enjoy these delicious Tea Sandwiches

April is Earth Month, and doesn’t that make you want to get outside and enjoy nature? Rory and I love taking the time to refresh ourselves over tea. So, in the spring and summer, we shake things up a bit and do tea in the garden — serving iced tea instead of hot. We whip up some tasty tea sandwiches and head outside.

There is something so honest and simple about enjoying the flowers in bloom, watching the birds fly by and listening to them sing. Revitalize your spirit and relax in the garden with some iced tea and tea sandwiches.

Honest® Tea is our iced tea of choice — real, pure tea made from quality ingredients that are plainly written on the label, and NO ADDED SUGAR. One sip is all it takes to taste the HONEST difference. We also make our tea sandwiches with simple ingredients. In fact, one of the sandwiches I am sharing today includes the NEW Peach Ginger flavor of Honest® Tea. The Peach Ginger tea has a bright, refreshing, and fruity flavor that is absolutely amazing.

Tea sandwiches are so easy, there is really not any measuring to be done. Just simple ingredients added to taste.

Let’s get fixing our Tea Sandwiches!

Peach Ginger, Cream Cheese, and Nuts

Ingredients:

  • Cream Cheese
  • Nuts – chopped fine (I used pecan, but you can use whatever you like)
  • Peach – fresh is best (if using canned, drain well)
  • Peach Ginger Honest® Tea
  • Bread (I used white bread)

Directions:

  1. There are no measurements. Just add ingredients to taste and to the amount you need for serving.
  2. Cut Peach slices into small bites.
  3. In a bowl, add Cream Cheese, peaches, and Nuts.
  4. Pour a little Peach Ginger Tea into the bowl and begin mixing.
  5. Add tea a little at a time until the mixture is creamy and easy to spread
  6. Cut the crusts off your bread.
  7. Spread cream cheese mixture on one slice of bread and top with another slice of bread.
  8. Cut the sandwich into fourths.

6 Benefits of Drinking Matcha Green Tea

6 Benefits of Drinking Matcha Green Tea

For thousands of years green tea has been used throughout Asia as one of the most effective medicines. Today, in many people’s’ eyes green tea is just a bitter drink. However, despite such opinions, green tea has numerous health benefits, from lowering the blood pressure to preventing cancer. And if you make your tea from a powdered Matcha green tea, you are taking advantage of all of its nutrients.

Keeps You Calm

Japanese Zen Buddhist monks have been using green tea as a successful means of relaxation and meditation, but it also kept them on high alert. That high state of consciousness is caused by the amino acid called L-Theanine, which is present in the leaves that are used for making this tea. This amino acid encourages the production of alpha waves in your brain which can lead to the state of being completely relaxed, but without drowsiness.

Memory and Concentration Booster

Another effect of the above mentioned amino acid includes production of serotonin and dopamine. These two can boost your mood, improve your memory and provide you with better concentration. So, if you are expecting a busy day, start it with a hot bowl of Mista Matcha green tea in the morning.

Loaded with Antioxidants

Antioxidants are one of the magic ingredients of any foods and drinks. They are responsible for fighting against the effects of UV rays and free radicals, thus preserving our skin as young and flexible. That is why you should drink at least one bowl of tea each day, which contains up to 5 times more antioxidants than any other foods, and have the most perfect and healthy skin.

Filled with Catechin

Catechin is a type of antioxidants which is the most beneficial, and one specific catechin (Epigallocatechin gallate EGCG) is widely recognized as means of fighting cancer. What is more, this particular catechin makes up 60% of all the catechins in this green tea. Another beneficial property of catechins is that they are highly successful in fighting bacteria and viruses, thus curing your flu, throat infections and preventing tooth decay, as well as other dental conditions.

Burns Calories and Detoxifies the Body

If you are troubling with excess weight, than drinking green tea will help you. This tea is known for speeding up your metabolism, thus burning more fat than other foods. Also, it will have no negative side-effects, such as high blood pressure and increased heart beat, unlike other weight loss regimes.  What is more, not only will it help you burn the fat, but it will clean your body off any heavy metals and chemical toxins, due to high levels of chlorophyll.

Builds a Strong Immune System

Today, having a strong and healthy immune system is rare, due to higher exposure to stress and unhealthy foods. But, if you drink just one bowl of green tea every day, you are loading your body with vitamins A and C, iron, protein, calcium and potassium. Besides providing your body with all these ingredients, this green tea has amazing antibiotic properties, which will work on your overall health. Additionally, it will help you regulate the cholesterol levels, thus lowering the risks of heart diseases.

Stop using processed teas that come in bags, and run to the store and get your dose of this magical tea. Start each day with a bowl of health and positive energy and stay strong throughout the day.
