DIY Double Tiered Tray
Hi everyone! A couple of weeks ago was my favorite day at the thrift store. It was Buy One Get One Free Day. I just had the best time, and I went back twice. I found two plates that I made into a DIY double tiered tray!
These two plates were the perfect green for my home and were two different sizes. And they were priced at $3 and $2.50; but, since I got one free I ended up getting both for $3.
In the Goodwill store last weekend I found this candle stick. I knew that if it was cut down it would be perfect to add to the plates to create the double tier. As you can see, it was a dollar.
Jeff cut it for me after I threatened to go out and cut it myself. Ha! Then it got a coat of white spray paint.
I distressed it a little and it looked like this. Perfect!
This is how it would look with the candlestick on the larger, bottom tier.
We used E600 adhesive to glue the candle stick between the two plates. It took a good 6 hours to completely set. You need to be patient with this stuff.
But, the final result makes me happy!
I have always wanted one of these trays and a DIY Double Tiered Tray is even better!

Because of the wooden middle piece, I won’t be putting in the dishwasher. I will even watch what I display on it, so that I can pretty much just wipe it off with a damp cloth. I think it could be gently hand washed if it really needed it.
I hope you enjoyed this post and will stop by my blog at www.michellejdesigns.com to see what else I have going on!
See you in two weeks!
