Halloween Girls’ Night Bunco Party

Easy to Host – Learn How To Play + Free Printables!

+ Halloween Decor Blog Hop

Halloween is always a fun time to host a party. This year, I got to host our monthly Bunco Party for a vamptastic Halloween Girls’ Night! It was hauntingly fun and I cannot wait to share it with you.

If you have never played Bunco, you are missing out on some serious girl-time gaming amusement. Don’t worry, you can get into the game easily enough, I have downloads and FREE printables that will arm you with everything you need. Check them out below.

Since my party was at the beginning of October, I wanted to give it a Halloween theme. My house is all spooked out with the decor, I added Halloween names to the Bunco tables, and of course, I served a frightfully tasty Halloween-themed dessert, Vampire Cupcakes.

Jeepers Creepers, let’s take a peek!

I had a ton of fun creating my Halloween Mantel Decor, and am absolutely in love with the Orange, Black, and Purple color scheme. See the post HERE. This was a perfect focal point for my Halloween Girls’ Night Bunco Party.

I set-up a super cute buffet table for some extra snacks and my delectable dessert.

These Vampire Cupcakes are easy-peasy to make and are quite a crowd pleaser — definitely a perfect Halloween-themed dessert. CLICK HERE for the RECIPE!

All of my Bunco supplies had a Halloween twist. From the goodie bags for my prizes to the table tags denoting which table was which, to the pencils. Even my prizes were renamed: Master Vampire = Most Buncos; The Headless Horseman = 1st Place; Mummy in the Middle = 2nd Place; The Cackler = Most Smileys; and The Body in the Basement = Most Losses.

Aren’t these spooky Candelabra Place Cards adorable? They were perfect for marking my tables and placed beside my cupcakes.

Ready to Play Bunco?

Bunco is a very EASY game, anyone can play it. There is no skill or strategy involved. If you can roll dice, you can play. This game is a great social mixer since you change partners and tables all night long, so you get the opportunity to chat and giggle with everyone.

Very few supplies are needed to play Bunco: dice; paper; pencil; and a bell (or something to make noise with). You will also want score sheets. And, if you are starting a Bunco Group of your own, you’ll want the Monthly Paid Schedule and the Rules, Prizes & Game Play. I have FREE PRINTABLES for these!

Downloads and Free Printables for Halloween Girls’ Night Bunco Party

Bunco Score Sheets

The score sheets come two to a page. Each player needs to have one.

Bunco – Monthly Paid Schedule

If you are starting a Bunco Group, use this to keep track of who has paid. You collect money at the end of the bunco party for the following month’s Bunco.

Bunco – Rules, Prizes & Game Play

This is loaded with information and awesome tips too. It provides all the details on how to play the game of Bunco, prize descriptions, game set-up, and more.

Bunco is a great idea for a Halloween Girls’ Night or anytime. Think about it for a church group event, big family get-together, or any event where you might play a game. You will have a BLAST!

Football Decor – DIY Goal Post Toilet Paper Holder For The Big Game

This post, Football Decor – DIY Goal Post Toilet Paper Holder For The Big Game,  has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #MegaGame #CollectiveBias

Give your bathroom a mini-update with football decor for the big game. Make a DIY Football Goal Post Toilet Paper Holder that scores!

Score With Football Decor For The Mega Game!

DIY Football Goal Post Toilet Paper Holder

When planning for the big game, you need to put a few plays into motion.  Of course, you have to clean the house and have plenty of seating and space for viewing. Maybe you even have a few party games going to excite the fans. But part of the mega fun of game day is having festive decor to boost the party atmosphere. It is a no-brainer to decorate the main entertaining areas of your home, so today, I am sharing an idea for that little room everybody needs and nobody wants to discuss. I am solving a problem every hostess worries about.

As a hostess, you strive to meet all of your guests’ wants and needs and make them as comfortable as possible so they can enjoy the party. You worry about the little things… you know, like having a guest run out of toilet paper and searching through your cabinets and drawers for more. YIKES! Right? Nobody wants to be in that situation.

Block That Punt!

Block the punt with two easy mega plays that will gain you a first down in guest comfort.

  • First, stock up on Quilted Northern Ultra Soft & Strong® Mega Rolls.

Mega Rolls go the distance in keeping the rush to flush covered. These fuller rolls mean you have to change them less often. More yardage than other rolls and guaranteed to fit your standard holder — that scores an extra point!

  • Second, make your own Football Goal Post Toilet Paper Holder.

This football decor for your bathroom is both festive and functional. Parties for the mega football game can go on for hours on end, and let’s face it, the more guests the better. So, even with the large mega rolls, you don’t want to have a bath tissue fumble. Your guests will not have to search for a new roll, they will be in plain view — 2 point conversion!

So, huddle-up and I’ll give you the play-by-play.

DIY Football Goal Post Toilet Paper Holder

Materials:

  • 1/2 Inch Schedule-40 PVC Pipe
    • 2 x 5-1/2 inches
    • 1 x 18 inches (I cut mine at 15 inches because I had extra height with a coupler).
    • 2 x 8-1/2 inches
    • 2 pieces of custom length to use as feet and will fit inside your base
  • 1/2 Inch Schedule-40 PVC Fittings
    • 1 Tee (slip fitting, no threads)
    • 2 Elbows (slip fitting, no threads)
    • 1 Side Outlet 90-Degree Elbow (slip fitting, no threads) **NOTE – if you can only get a Side Outlet Elbow that has two slips and one threaded, you will need to get a 1/2 inch coupler to convert the threaded port to slip. That is what I had to use.
    • 2 Caps
    • Football Turf
    • Basket (a crate will work, whatever you have)
    • Yellow Spray Paint
    • Scuff Pad
    • Alcohol
    • Old Newspaper
    • Other Football Themed Items
    • Sandpaper (optional)
    • Primer (optional)

Tools:

  • Plastic Pipe Cutters
  • Measuring Tape
  • Pencil

How To:

  1. Plan your project. The measurements above are what I used for mine, but depending on your base and space you may want yours smaller or larger. Test it out, and create a plan.
  1. Remove any stickers from pipes or fittings.
  1. Measure your PVC Pipe and mark where to cut with a pencil.
  1. Cut the pipe using your cutters (a hacksaw will work too).
  1. Once all lengths are cut, you can start assembling the goal post.
    • Slide the two 5-1/2″ pipe pieces into the horizontal ends of the Tee with the perpendicular open end facing down.
    • Add the Elbows to each end, with the open ends facing upward.
    • Slip the 8-1/2″ pipe pieces into the upright ends of the Elbows.
    • Place a Cap on the end of each upright.
    • Attach the long 18″ pipe length into the downward opening of the Tee.
    • Slide the Side Outlet Elbow onto the bottom of the long pipe. (If you need to attach a Coupler to the threaded port of the Side Outlet Elbow. Attach the Coupler to the pipe).
    • Place your additional varied size pipe pieces to the final two opening of the Side Outlet Elbow. These will be your feet to make the goal post stand and do not need to be perfect as nobody will see them.
  1. Scuff the pipes and fittings so the paint will adhere.
  1. PVC Pipe and Fittings are stamped. You will want to turn all the pieces so the stamping is placed at the back of the goal post. The feet should be positioned coming out the front of the goal post.
  1. Squeeze the pipes and fittings together so they are tight.
  1. Gently wipe the pipes and fitting with alcohol to remove any oils from your fingertips. This will help the paint adhere better.
  2. Spray paint the goal post (check the tip below). Let it dry thoroughly.

Call the Blitz Play

TIP for Spray Painting:

Sack that blushing quarterback before he gets started.

Always apply spray paint in short bursts. Do a light coat just to fog the surface. Let that stand for a few seconds to get tacky then apply more, again in short burst of paint. Never hold the nozzle down for a steady spray, as that leads to blushing (a milky or hazy appearance and low gloss when dried).

Assemble the Goal Post Toilet Paper Holder Football  Decor:

  1. Place the constructed and painted goal post inside your base of choice (I used a basket that fit on top of the toilet tank).
  2. Stuff the basket with old newspaper to fill the space.
  3. Tuck the Football Turf over the newspaper and inside the basket sides. (I used football turf drink holders, and ripped the seem so they would lay flat).
  4. Decorate with other Football Decor. (I drew a football play on a small sandwich board style chalkboard, added a couple of penalty flags, and a cutout football).
  5. Add a Quilted Northern Ultra Soft & Strong Mega Roll to each upright.

And there you have it. Your bathroom has a mini update with football decor providing mega impact, and you and your guests are all set for the kickoff.

Mini Taco Scoops Recipe

Mini Taco Scoops

For Game Day or Any Day…

Oh, boy! Is your mouth watering just looking at that picture? Mine is. These Mini Taco Scoops are so scrumptious. They burst with flavor, and are super easy to make too.

I previewed these Mini Taco Scoops in my Game Day Party post that featured the Snickers Mini Pudding Parfaits along with the Skittles Ice Cream Sandwiches. So, be sure to check that out, because these snacks make a perfect trio.

Mini Taco Scoops

The Ingredients Are Simple:

Tostitos Scoops, Hamburger, Taco Seasoning, Tostitos Chunky Salsa (I used the medium flavor), Sour Cream, Shredded Cheese, and Fresh Cilantro.

Here’s What You Do:

  • In a skillet, brown your Hamburger Meat making sure to stir it well, so the hamburger breaks down into smaller pieces
  • Drain off any excess juices
  • Add one packet of Taco Seasoning according to the packet instructions
  • Now it is time to layer your Mini Taco Scoop

  • Take a Tostitos Scoop and put a small amount of Taco-Flavored Hamburger in it
  • Then add a little Salsa
  • Add a tiny dollop of Sour Cream
  • Sprinkle some Shredded Cheese
  • Top with a Fresh Cilantro leaf

That’s it, you’re finished! These small bites are a perfect amuse bouche (Top Chef would be proud – LOL). The flavors are wonderful, and the fresh cilantro really makes them pop…YUM!

You can make the Mini Taco Scoops and place them on a platter, or you can set up a build-your-own Mini Taco Scoops Bar. I like to do both. I have a platter of them on the table and set up the bar around them. That way, guests know what they are supposed to look like when they go to make their own.

These tasty snacks go quickly, so be sure to have plenty of fixings!

Skittles Ice Cream Sandwiches

Skittles Ice Cream Sandwiches

You Won’t Believe How Easy These Tasty Treats Are!

In my Game Day Party post, I included these amazing little frozen snacks. But, I wanted to share with you just how easy they are to make. You will be shocked! I know I was. I do have to confess, these Skittles Ice Cream Sandwiches had a slightly different beginning…

My original ideas was to let the ice cream sandwiches thaw just a little and push skittles onto the ice cream sides (creating a rainbow of polka-dots), and then, re-freeze them. This did not work. The whole Skittles were too heavy for the slightly melted ice cream, and they would not stay in place. What a mess I had! Then, Rory told me of something she had seen while cruising Pinterest that got her attention. I wish I had the PIN to link to, because they deserve some credit.

UPDATE: Rory found the PIN. It’s for a Skittles Poke Cake–click here.

So, get out your Magic Bullet, Ninja, or whatever food processor you have, and let’s get busy!

Skittles Ice Cream Sandwich Recipe

This recipe has only TWO INGREDIENTS:

  • Ice Cream Sandwiches
  • Skittles

Here’s what you do:

  • Line a baking dish with Wax Paper
  • Keep your Ice Cream Sandwiches in the Freezer. Work with them from there, one at a time

  • Take a small handful of Skittles and put them in your processor.

  • Pulse it a few times until you have Skittles Powder with some tiny chunks left in it. You will be surprised how fast this goes!
  • Pour the Skittles powder into a container with an air-tight lid
  • Repeat and Make enough Skittles powder to coat the edges of your ice cream sandwiches

  • Put some of the Skittles powder onto a small plate
  • Take your first Ice Cream Sandwich out of the freezer, and unwrap it. I cut my sandwiches in half to have smaller snack-size treats.

  • Tap the ice cream edges in the Skittles powder until all sides are covered

  • Place Skittles crusted sandwich in the wax paper lined dish and put into freezer
  • Repeat these steps until all of your Skittles Ice Cream Sandwiches are made
  • Once finished, cover the dish with Plastic Wrap

And here is what you end up with…

See how they look on your Game Day table?

SNICKERS® Mini Pudding Parfaits for Game Day

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #GameDayGlory #CollectiveBias

Pudding Parfaits, great GAME DAY flavors, and tasty treats from SNICKERS®, Skittles®, TOSTITOS®, and Pepsi™.

SNICKERS® Mini Pudding Parfaits

A Tasty Game Day Treat

#GameDayGlory

Well, here it is–the time of year we all start planning for the big game day parties. Just like any party, you want your guests to have a great time, and you want to enjoy it with them. But how do you do that, when there is so much to do? Huddle up and make a Plan! And, I have some ideas to help keep you from fumbling.

5 Must-Haves for Game Day:

  1. Great Food: Big games and great food go hand-in-hand. Set-up one main area for food service. This will allow you to keep a watchful eye out for anything that needs replenishing. Plus, everyone will have the opportunity to interact during the game. Make sure you have a variety of “meal-type” foods and plenty of those tasty “snack-type” foods. You could get really creative, and build a Snack Stadium! Snap a photo and post it to Instagram using #GameDayGlorySweepstakes to enter for a chance to win, or go vote for your favorite Snack Stadium. Check out more snack tips and a yummy recipe below.

Game Day Glory Sweepstakes

  1. Two Viewing Areas: Let’s face it, some guests are there to WATCH the game, and others are there to SOCIALIZE while watching. Having two viewing areas gives the more intense football fans a place to cheer on their team and avoid possible penalties.
  1. Kid Sitters: Are you having kids at your game day party? Then, make it easy on yourself, and hire a sitter or two. Having a little pass interference to wrangle those active partiers, is a good thing. Whether entertained by watching the actual game, the puppy bowl, playing games or crafting, you and your adult guests will appreciate being able to enjoy the game. Give the kids their own smaller snack station that the sitters can help maintain.
  1. Name Tags: Not for you, but your DRINKS! Confusion reigns supreme when it comes to which drink is who’s on game day. Use plastic cups and provide a Sharpie for name writing. Make tags and attache them to rubber bands for guests to attach to their cup, bottle, or can. Create personalized labels for your drinks. See more ideas here and here.
  1. Friendly Competition: Is it really game day without a little friendly competition? Regardless if your scrimmage line is “buy-in” or “just-for-fun,” everyone enjoys the comradery and game-time interaction. Add another bit of fun to the usual football pool with my Game Day BINGO! This is a set of 8 cards that print two to a page. Seven cards are ready to play, and one card is blank–perfect for you to customize. Get the Free Printable Download below.

Now, let’s get to the yummy stuff! Big games and great food go hand-in-hand, and everybody loves the savory flavorful offerings of ribs, burgers, and dogs. But, you can’t just “snack” on the big stuff. So, I’m sharing some easy ideas that will add a 2-point conversion to your touchdown!

Mini Taco Scoops

Mini Taco Scoops are amazing bites (a perfect amuse-bouche) are made with TOSTITOS® Scoops –use the Party Size– and TOSTITOS® Medium Chunky Salsa. Serve this with a glass of Pepsi™ for a perfect pairing.

Luke loves these. Sometimes he adds another TOSTITOS® Scoops chip as a top and calls it a Taco Ball.

Skittles® Ice Cream Sandwiches

Oh, yum! You won’t believe how easy these are to make. These Skittles® Ice Cream Sandwiches are crusted with Skittles® powder! Get out your Magic Bullet, Ninja, or the like, and make quick work of this project–and I do mean quick!

And now, for the MVP of this party… A sweet treat Pudding Parfaits Recipe that looks great and tastes even better!

SNICKERS® Mini Pudding Parfaits

This is such an easy recipe for pudding parfaits. All you need is Vanilla Instant Pudding, Milk, SNICKERS® Minis, and Whipped Cream.

Here’s the Play-by-Play:

  • Add Pudding Mix and cold Milk to a bowl and Whip for 2 minutes
  • Let Pudding chill in refrigerator for at least 5 minutes

  • Unwrap SNICKERS® Minis – 4 pieces for each mini pudding dish
  • Chop half the amount of SNICKERS® Minis into small chunks–use a knife
  • Set the unwrapped whole SNICKERS® Minis aside for later

Here’s a helpful HACK: Fill a plastic baggy with your pudding and cut the tip off one corner. This will allow to fill the serving dishes quickly and without any mess!

  • Put a small amount of Pudding in the bottom of serving dishes

  • Sprinkle pudding with a layer of chopped SNICKERS® Minis
  • Add another layer of Pudding
  • Sprinkle another layer of chopped SNICKERS® Minis

Labeley Customizes Your Party Drinks

Customize Your Party Drinks with Labeley

Give your party a little pizzazz!

Are you ready for your Super Bowl Party? Want to make your party the one everyone talks about all year long? Want to give it a little personalized kick? I have a fantastic and fun idea for you!

When Doris from Labeley contacted me and asked about publishing a post about making personalized labels in time for the Super Bowl, I quickly went to check out their website. I was impressed! What a great idea–so creative and super easy. Of course, I had to say, “YES!”

So, now, learn and enjoy Labeley with Doris…

How to Make Your Party Drinks Stand Out with Custom Labels

Are you ready for this coming Sunday? You had plenty of time to explore these Super Bowl party tips and perhaps choose a few that you liked the most to try out for your wild party. If you’ve already got everything planned out, good for you! But I’m sure there are many of you who still need inspiration, so one more idea for throwing a unique football party with very little effort might come very handy.

Since there seems to be an abundance of food ideas online, let’s focus on drinks. Here’s one interesting tool for playing with beverages that can really make your party the talk of the month.

The tool is called Labeley and it lets users create personalized labels online for free. It is pretty simple and offers a lot of neat options.

First go to the tool’s homepage here and choose the type of label you need for your party: beer, wine, or even kids labels if perhaps you’re throwing a children’s Super Bowl party.

Let’s say you want to surprise your beer-drinking buddies. Click on “Beer Labels” and start by picking your labels’ shape.

I outlined which shape and border I’m using for this demonstration. Click on the arrow on the right to choose some interesting color and background template/image for the label:

The commands are pretty straightforward. As you see, you can choose any color in the upper left hand corner of the tool, then pick a background template or choose an image file that you want to use as background.

Next on the menu are Main Graphics. Explore this collection of fun illustrations and choose one you think your guests would enjoy:

You can also choose not to add any graphics (click on the “no graphics” field), because the tool will let you upload any file from your computer and use it as the main label image in one of the next few steps.

Before personalizing the label with a unique photo, choose a ribbon or banner that will be used for placing the beer title or any text you wish to add later.

Go to the next step and choose text for your label.

You can play around with text options, choose font, its color, size, style and shape, as well as add different outlines and effects.

If you want to personalize your label with a funny photo of your friends or a photo of your favorite Super Bowl player, go back to Main Graphics and choose the “no graphics” option, and then upload your chosen photo in this final step.

You can then save your label, print it out and decorate your beer bottles with it.

Enjoy the party!

Doris, thank you so much for sharing Labeley with us. What an awesome tool. I can think of so many creative ways to use Labeley–21st birthday parties, Halloween, St. Patrick’s Day, baby showers, weddings… Oh , I can’t wait to give it a try!

How would you use Labeley?

Do you have a design in mind that you’d like to try?
